从语篇角度利用主述位理论对比分析原文和译文中的主位及主述位推进关系,并以对偶句为例阐述《黄帝内经》的英译策略:尽量保持原文的主述位推进模式;主语和谓语是“动作者”和“动作”的关系,保持原文主述位英译;中文原文的主语和谓语是“话题+说明”的关系,在翻译成英文时应转换为英语主语主位;出现句式主位则要根据句式主位在句中体现的并列关系或从属关系对原文进行翻译。
Abstract:
The theme-rheme theory was used in this paper to analyze texts in Chinese and English translation of Huangdi Neijing in order to find out the differences and similarities in theme and theme-rheme progression mode in both texts. Translation of antitheses is especially discussed under the theory. The translation strategies are suggested after the analysis: first, try to maintain the theme-rheme progression mode when translating the Chinese medical classics. Second, if the subject and predicate in Chinese texts are actor and its act, theme-rheme pattern of Chinese text maintains in the English translation; third, if the subject and predicate in Chinese text are topic and its demonstration, theme-rheme pattern in Chinese text is supposed to be changed into "actor-act" pattern in English; fourth, if there is a clausal theme, the application of parataxis or hypotaxis is decided by the Chinese text.
