摘要:: 19世纪晚期，英国传教士德贞（John Dudgeon）发表了题为《功夫或医学体操》的系列文章，系统译介了七部中医养生典籍，内容涵盖中医养生理论、导引功法及方药知识。其译著以详实的史料与精美插图见长，译介方式兼具“夹论夹译”与“先论后译”之特色，并灵活运用多种翻译策略，力求准确传达原文，然亦偶有误译。德贞的译介态度呈现出明显的矛盾性：既肯定中医养生功法的疗效，又试图以西方医学理论加以阐释。该译介工作不仅推动了中医养生学的海外传播，亦为当代中医典籍的翻译实践提供了重要参考。

Abstract:: In the late 19th century, the British missionary John Dudgeon published a series of articles entitled Kung Fu, or Medical Gymnastics, which systematically translated and introduced seven classical texts of Chinese medicine focusing on health preservation, encompassing theories of TCM health preservation, Daoyin exercises, and knowledge of formulas and materia medica. Dudgeon’s translations were distinguished by their well-documented historical references and exquisite illustrations. The translation approach features a combination of "commentary interspersed with translation" and "commentary followed by translation," with flexible use of various translation strategies to convey the original text accurately, though occasional inaccuracies persisted. John Dudgeon’s attitude toward translation and introduction presents a clear contradiction: while affirming the therapeutic value of Chinese health-preserving practices, he simultaneously sought to reinterpret them through the lens of Western medical theory. His work not only facilitated the international dissemination of traditional Chinese health preservation methods but also provided valuable insights for contemporary efforts in translating classical Chinese medical texts.
